Wreningham Village Hall Management Committee presents its 15th Annual Art Exhibition on 10th and 11th October featuring the work of over 50 artists, together with demonstrations of artistic technique.
Each year, the exhibition widens its exhibitor list and the range of styles and media. Exhibitors from over much of Norfolk and North Suffolk will be displaying work in watercolours, oils, acrylics and mixed media on glass and canvas. All the framed work and sculptures displayed, totalling over 150 items, is for sale with prices ranging from £15 to £275. There are also a large number of unframed works, prints and greetings cards for sale.
This year, the range of styles has been widened to include crafts and you will find stained glass, wooden jewellery, painted stones, cushions, textiles and wood turning together with a number of photographs, sculptures in metal, wood or plaster and ceramics alongside traditional hung artwork. Many of the artists have their own studios, hold their own exhibitions or display their work at the Royal Norfolk Show so you can be sure of seeing work of exceptional quality and skill.
Well-known Mulbarton artist Chris Scales will be demonstrating his work on Sunday from 3pm.
The preview evening on Friday 9th October (8 pm – 10 pm, admission £2.00) is a perfect opportunity to meet some of the artists and snap up chosen pieces in advance whilst enjoying a relaxing drink from the licensed bar.
The exhibition continues on Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th October between 10 am and 4 pm and can be found at Wreningham Village Hall, Mill Lane, Wreningham, NR16 1AN, situated on the B1113, about 6 miles south west of Norwich. Admission each day is £1.50 for adults, children are free.
The exhibition is part of a major fund raising programme for Wreningham Village Hall and over the last four years the committee has been working on a project to improve the heating and general environment within the main hall and provide better facilities for its users. To date they have re-roofed the building and increased substantially the amount of insulation. The windows to the north of the building have been replaced with PVC triple glazing and a more effective and economical heating system is in place. The last stage is to install a heat recovery extractor system and money is being raised to fund this.
