Ricochet TV asked us to inform you about their new television show for BBC, “The repair shop” ( repair shop flyer ). Their team of experts include trades such as blacksmithing, ceramics, clockmakers, upholsterers and carpenters. The show looks into repairing beloved and interesting possessions for people who would like to see them restored or repaired back to their original working order.

They have looked to include items ranging from pocket watches to grandfather clocks, rocking horses to drawn carriages, from toy cars to VW campers. Communities, too, may have items that are important to them: e.g. memorial plaques; eroded statues; snapped weather vanes; broken sun dials; cracked gargoyles; fading carvings, etc.

The show will feature sentimental/interesting items in need of repair and will feature the repair-work of some items in the show with a community value, are treasured or, are essential to communities, but which may have an interesting story and purpose.

If they accept it for the show, the item would be repaired at their repair shop (a barn outfitted for their experts) and returned to the community at no expense to its owner. There would be broadcast TV coverage from start to finish of the item, in the work shop and when it is revealed to the owner or community.
