Consultation 2014

Issues and Options Stage of the Gypsies and Travellers Local Plan (GTLP)

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) has advised County / District / Town councils that the last round of planning had not identified sufficient sites in England for Gypsies and Travellers. Hence SNDC are required to revisit the matter and have been working on a new set of plans, reports, etc. Wreningham Parish Council received a letter from SNDC advising that the GTLP Issues and Options Document will be discussed at the July 28th SNDC Cabinet where it is recommended that officers proceed with an eight week consultation to run between 29th August and 24th October 2014.

Consultation on approach to Site selection
South Norfolk Council recently held a briefing session for local representatives. Two presentations are provided here:

The consultation period for public consultation has commenced and will close at 5pm on 24th October 2014. The South Norfolk Council’s documentation explaining the plan, proposals and consultation can be found at this link.

Please note that this is a consultation on the method and due process for selecting and approving sites for travellers NOT about specific or actual sites. Although note that an invitation for landowners to suggest sites has also been issued.
