The Parish Council has acquired two bleed kits.
- One is inside the defibrillator cabinet at the Village Hall.
- The other may yet be placed at the Bird in Hand public house.
An Emergency
Catastrophic bleeding is a medical emergency where every second matters. The Daniel Baird Bleed Control Kit is specifically designed to help manage life-threatening bleeds before professional help arrives.
Location
Our AED is mounted on the outside of the East wall of the Hall beside the big car park: click on What Three Words: Ballooned, streaking, canines.
Access code
Use the code from the 999 Operator to open the door, remove the bag containing the Bleed Kit and take it to the patient.
Using the Kit
Follow the instructions provided with the kit. The kit contains:
- 1 x Foxseal Vented Chest Seal – For treating penetrating chest wounds.
- 1 x Celox Haemostatic Gauze – Stops severe bleeding from deep wounds.
- 1 x Code Red Emergency Windlass Tourniquet – Quickly controls blood flow to limbs.
- 1 x Large Trauma Dressing – Wraps and secures bleeding wounds.
- 1 x Emergency Shears – Cuts away clothing to access wounds.
- 1 x Emergency Foil Blanket – Helps keep the patient warm.
- 2 x Nitrile Disposable Gloves – Ensures rescuer safety.
- 1 x CPR Face Mask – Protection for performing CPR.
- 1 x Marker Pen – Vital for noting tourniquet application time.
- 1 x Body Map/Contents Card – A simple guide for effective use.
After use
Please inform the Clerk for Wreningham Parish Council that the kit has been used. She can then arrange for a replacement. If you can provide details about the emergency and comment on the use of the kit that would be very helpful.
