In the early evening of 11th May Steve from NARS visited the village hall and trained a dozen parishioners in the use of a defibrillator and the importance of recognising and responding to a person in cardiac arrest. Steve related the NARS background and its work in Norfolk. He clearly established that time is of the essence for the person suffering the cardiac arrest. His explanation and demonstration of CPR on a dummy was followed by hands-on experience augmented by the use of the defibrillator.

It was an enlightening experience and emphasised how this simple technique, speedily applied, saves lives.

The Parish Council will arrange further sessions if there is demand. Please contact the Clerk and leave details.
