B1135 closure – impact on Wreningham Residents

SNC and Jackson’s have agreed to have a meeting with Parish Council representatives about the closure of the B1135 and the steps being taken to mitigate the impact to the local area such as in Wreningham. 

You will recall earlier this year when the B1135 was closed, a ratrun via Hethel Road created many difficulties for our residents and school families. The complaints lead to Hethel Road being closed. This halted the Hethel Road ratrun but traffic soon re-routed via Wymondham Road instead. 

This time Hethel Road will be closed for a 10 week duration due to the B1135 roadworks from 20th July – 18th September 2026. However we believe that an inevitable ratrun via Wymondham Road should also be tackled, perhaps by closing that road too at the Devlin Development entrance.

We would like to hear from you with your comments about the 10 week B1135 closure and what it will mean for you, given your experiences from the last closure. Hethel Roundabout – Road closure

Please see the Traffic Order from NCC legal team about road closures from 1st June to 25th September 2026. This is related to the construction of the new roundabout by Hethel Engineering. Please note that Jim Webber, SNC District Councillor, is hoping to arrange a public meeting with the construction team to discuss the roundabout project and its impact on local people.

ROAD CLOSURE – B1113 30/9 TO 3/10

Update 1 October: we have been advised that this closure is to be extended until 3 October from between 7pm to 5am the following morning.

A temporary road closure is sceduled for re-surfacing work on the B1113 affecting the Norwich Road from its junction with C186 Wymondham Road in the Parish of Bracon Ash and Hethel. The works will be carried out between 19:00 on 30th September and 05:00 on 1st October 2024.

Road Closure – B1113/C197 (Mulbarton) – short/long?

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO11471) [See Below]. This affects the B1113, Norwich Road, from its junction with C179, The Common, for 100m north eastwards (the “Road”) in the Parish of Mulbarton. This is to facilitate UK Power Network electrical transformer replacement, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary:

  • which is anticipated to be from 2nd to 3rd October 2024,
  • but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 14th November 2024 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

B1113 overnight road closures – 30 August to 8 September

Norfolk Highways have advised that there will be Rolling Road closures between Mulbarton to Carlton Rode. This is to undertake road surface repairs along the B1113. (You may have noticed many white paint markings outlining repair sites on this road.) These are planned for overnight from 7pm to 6am. Diversions will be sign posted. See documents below for details.

Deferred: Road Closure – Ashwellthorpe Road – 9-13 January

9-1-23: This has been has been rescheduled to later in the year – more news in due course.

NCC is to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the U76091 Ashwellthorpe Road from its junction with U78014 Mill Lane for 300m south-westwards in the WRENINGHAM to facilitate UKPN new connection works.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 9th to 13th January 2023 for the duration of the works expected to be about 5 days within the period.
