It has taken a long time but finally the reduced speed limit is enforced via new 40 mph signs recently installed on the B1113. The limit applies from just North of the Mill Lane junction to the Wreningham village sign further South.
Charlotte Ditchburn, the Access Field Officer for the British Horse Society covering the East Region, has written for assistance with their project to record legal rights, and to preserve and reinstate routes.

It is with great sadness that I report the death of Maurice Green, a longtime resident of Wreningham.
Born in Portsmouth, he grew up in Duxford with five siblings, four sisters and a brother. Maurice was a practical young man with a preference for metalwork and mechanics over more theoretical subjects. He excelled at sports and became an ABA Eastern Counties boxing champion. He had a variety of jobs, including dairyman, driver, working with thoroughbred race horses, and as a coalman. Maurices’ love of horses was central to his life; he was a steward at the racing track in Wreningham.
His passion for horses was shared by Pam. They married in 1967, the next year Nick was born, followed by Darryl in 1973. The Greens stabled their horses at Hill House Farm where they supported Mr & Mrs Peel and eventually inherited the farm. An easy going man with simple tastes, Maurice did not do holidays, he worked hard and enjoyed his dog, a simple life, his family, his horses and, of course, his Massey Ferguson tractor.
He passed away in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital being treated for cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Pam, his two sons, Nick and Darryl and Nick’s partner, Annie. His cremation was held at Breckland Crematorium on 13 May 2020 and following his wishes, his ashes will be scattered across the fields on his farm.
His family are grateful for the many tributes, flowers and cards received and ask that any donations be made to the Norfolk and Norwich Colney Centre.

Norfolk County Council’s Cycling and Walking team are working on a project to improve waymarking and access on the historic Kett’s Country Long Distance Path, a 17-mile recreational walking route between Wymondham and Norwich.
This project also involves the creation of five brand new circular walks to connect local communities to the linear route and other green spaces. The long-distance path and all circular walks will be following existing public rights of way or quiet roads.
This is due to be completed by March 2022 with improvements to access and sign installation due to take place from March 2021.

Our District Councillors have provided the following:
The “call for sites” for the Village Clusters has been completed with some 350 applications put forward. These have been assessed but no decisions have been made regarding their suitability to be included in the Emerging Local Plan.
South Norfolk Council is currently being run by an Emergency Committee. This is made up of senior officials and some members of the council.
The Council’s finances have taken a hit. Income is lost because of closure of the Leisure Centres and loss of Rate income amongst others. Some of the shortfall will be made up by Central Government.
It is anticipated that economic Growth in the District will fall by some 25%. This is better than most Local Authorities but will have to be addressed when the position becomes clearer.
Most applications for Business Grants have been paid. However, if there are any businesses having difficulty sourcing these, I will be happy to help.
