Further to the campaign against High Voltage Pylons planned to be installed across the South Norfolk countryside, we have been asked to let people know that the campaign will be highlighted on BBC Countryfile, on Sunday 19th February.
They spent two days this week filming with some of the campaigners, as well as representatives from National Grid. Potentially a 10 to 12 minute slot.

If you wish to be advised about the campaign’s activities, please contact Martin Starkie at forncettpylons@btinternet.com.

Mike Burrell, Greater Norwich Planning Policy Manager, writes:

A focused consultation on sites for Gypsies and Travellers will commence at 09.00 on Monday 30 January and will close at 17.00 on Monday 13 March 2023.

“We are seeking views on sites put forward for consideration for providing residential pitches for Gypsies and Travellers.  It is important to note that no final decisions have been made on sites at this stage.  The consultation creates a further opportunity for landowners to propose more sites for Gypsies and Travellers.

“We are not consulting on any other sites that we asked for views on during previous GNLP consultations.

“You can find information about the sites, along with supporting information and useful FAQs, online at www.gnlp.org.uk, where you can also comment.

“The easiest and most efficient way to make comments on the consultation is to submit them online at www.gnlp.org.uk.  Alternatively, you can respond in writing using a response form which can be downloaded from www.gnlp.org.uk or requested by phone or email.  Written representations should then be emailed or sent to us by post.

“Contact details are: Tel:  01603 306603 E:  gnlp@norfolk.gov.uk Post:  Greater Norwich Local Plan, Room 428, City Hall, St Peters St, Norwich NR2 1NH

“Please contact us if you need consultation information in a different format.

All responses must be received by 17.00 on Monday 13 March 2023.  No representations will be accepted outside of this period.

Update 9 Jan 2023: The Defibrillator has re-appeared in its housing on the Hall wall – sans the torch. It is unaffected by its disappearance and is ready for duty.

5 Jan 2023: The Defibrillator (with its mechanical torch) are no longer in the housing attached to the Village Hall wall facing the larger car park. It is the only one in the village and is unavailable for any emergency.

We are assuming that it is has been deployed for use by someone in the village. Which is what it is there for. However it needs to be returned and made ready for service.

The Ambulance Service has not yet replied to a request to confirm its deployment. If you know where it is please contact me or the Parish Clerk so that we can arrange for its reinstatement with new supplies.

A weekly information email is circulated to inform parishioners about village functions, church services, school functions, village hall dances, pub nights, fish & chip nights, etc.

This is managed by David Tinsley at wreninghamnorfolk@btinternet.com

If you have an event in the village which you wish to publicise, then contact David.

If you do not yet receive this email and would like to, contact David. Details are only be used for village information and are not shared with others.

The above list is the current set of Planning Applications with respect to Fir Grove. Please note that comments to South Norfolk DC for the two “Pending Consideration” are due by 13th January 2023.
