It has taken a long time but finally the reduced speed limit is enforced via new 40 mph signs recently installed on the B1113. The limit applies from just North of the Mill Lane junction to the Wreningham village sign further South.
Norfolk County Council’s Cycling and Walking team are working on a project to improve waymarking and access on the historic Kett’s Country Long Distance Path, a 17-mile recreational walking route between Wymondham and Norwich.
This project also involves the creation of five brand new circular walks to connect local communities to the linear route and other green spaces. The long-distance path and all circular walks will be following existing public rights of way or quiet roads.
This is due to be completed by March 2022 with improvements to access and sign installation due to take place from March 2021.

Local Government Boundary Commission for England is undertaking an electoral review of Norfolk County Council. As part of the review, the Commission is required by legislation to have regard to electorate forecasts for a period five years after the publication of its final recommendations (in this case, that period is 2025).
The County Council submitted these forecasts in late 2019, which were agreed by the Commission and published. These were used as the basis for the consultation on division patterns, which was due to end on 11 February 2020.
On 30 January, the Commission received a representation from a district council in Norfolk which cited significant concerns about the electorate forecasts. Having considered the points raised, the Commission has agreed that the forecasts should be revisited.
The Commission has asked Norfolk County Council to provide updated electorate forecasts by 11 February and will extend the existing consultation period by six weeks to 24 March.
Any party that has already made a submission based on the existing electorate figures is invited to make another submission once the updated electorate have been published.
When they have been received, the new electorate forecasts will be published on the Norfolk review site at http://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/eastern/norfolk/norfolk-county-council.
As a result of this, the public consultation on the draft recommendations will now take place from 2 June – 10 August 2020.

NCC are consulting on the reduction to the speed limit on B1113, Norwich Road through Wreningham, as in this plan: the existing speed limit is 50mph and the new limit is 40mph. The Parish Council, with others, has been pressing for a speed reduction for many years.
The Parish Council will be requesting that the new limit should instead commence at/near the Wreningham village sign near the Bird in Hand. Pleased send comments (for or against) by 12th December 2019 to the NCC contact:

We have received notification that the bus services in Norfolk will have significant changes. The note is attached here – those which mention Mulbarton are in green lettering, whereas mention of Wreningham is in one entry in blue ink.
It is not clear whether these are temporary arrangements or more permanent. Please contact the names given in the note if you need more information.
We have received a notice that work to extend the sewerage system along Wymondham Road will need the road closed to through traffic for up to 5 days from 18 November to 22 November. Access will be possible. Documentation received is below:
Highway works are due to commence on Monday 29 July 2019 on Church Road for a duration of three weeks, West of Hethel Road to the public footpath. The works are to install kerbing to a section of the trod path continuing from work started last year. There will be some drainage installation work and repairs to the trod path carried out at the same time.
The road will be closed to traffic until work is complete. However pedestrian access will be maintained. There is a diversion for drivers: a signed diversion route along Church Road, B1113 Norwich Road, C594 Wymondham Road, Gravel Pit Lane and Ashwellthorpe Road will be in place. The diversion route is mapped here.
This work is being carried out during the school holidays to minimise disruption.

The work which will cost £21000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
